There are good witches and bad. Beaky was one of the good ones. She was nicknamed when she was a little girl because of her long skinny nose. Her proper name was Rebecca Postlethwaite and she did not look at all like a witch. She was quite old with a lined face and her hair was gathered together in a huge bun. She looked just like a special grandmother.
Witches usually have black cats living with them but Beaky had a spaniel with long drooping ears and she was called Lucinda….
